Soman N. Abraham, Ph.D. Laboratory

I am a native of the Himalayan region in India. I have participated in post-doctoral fellowships at the Indian Institute of Science, UCLA, and Duke-NUS. I now work in Professor Soman Abraham’s dynamic research laboratory, Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. My personal interests outside the lab are bungee jumping, glider flying, and participating in community services.
The current focus of my research is recently discovered signaling pathways which can control mast cell functions in human maladies. A goal of this research is to find novel signaling substrates that may be used as therapeutics and/or diagnostics. I also research the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in bacterial infections, such as uropathogenic (UPEC).
