Andrea Mencarelli

Research Interest: Role of mast cells in modulating innate and adaptive immune responses during urinary tract infections and the development of novel strategies to combat these infections.

 

He has worked in Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), for 3 years. In this period in he has worked on the IL2/NFAT/Calcineurin pathway in dendritic cells and T cells and studying the role of inflammasome related proteins in intestinal T cells.  

Before coming to Singapore (since 1998) he worked in a Gastroenterology laboratory in the University of Perugia, Italy, where he published more that 70 papers on different topics such as intestinal, liver and metabolic diseases.

He received his post-graduate degree in 2012 in Clinical Pathology from the University of Perugia, Italy.
