I became interested in infection and immunity while doing my master’s thesis on diarrheal diseases in my hometown Dhaka. Then I joined Mass General-icddr,b vaccine project and worked both in my hometown and in Boston. In 2011, I moved to Durham to start my PhD program in Cell and Molecular Biology. My personal interests include photography and hiking.

My current research involves host-pathogen interaction and innate immunity. I study the mechanisms by which pathogens escape innate defense, as well as modulations of host defense as novel treatment against infections.
