I was born in California but spent most of my childhood in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.  During this time, I achieved the rank of Life Scout as a member of the Boy Scouts of America.  My interest in research stems from my involvement in a plant pathology lab during my undergraduate education.  I love to golf and am a huge fan of both college and professional football.

My research focuses on Urinary Tract Infections and understanding how bladder cells respond during the course of infection.  We believe this knowledge will provide novel mechanisms to focus on modulating to remedy infection.
